Professional Summary
Dr. Lavyne Rada grew up in Milbank, South Dakota on a dairy farm. While in high school and college, she enjoyed working at a greenhouse and floral shop. Rada taught for one year in South Dakota before moving to Minnesota. She worked for Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN as a Retention Advisor for the TRiO Student Support Services Program and then taught high school agricultural education for nearly seven years in Hutchinson, MN, including courses in horticulture, floriculture, animal and veterinary science, food science, food and environmental chemistry, leadership, and more. All students were FFA members and had an SAE program. Rada spent ten years as the leadership development coordinator and then executive director at Minnesota FFA, while also leading induction and mentoring programs for AFNR teachers at the University of Minnesota. Today, Dr. Rada is the Associate Director of Recruitment and Retention at Minnesota CTE (MN CTE) and Lakes Country Service Cooperative. In this role she leads state CTE recruitment efforts and directs the CTE and AFNR Teacher Induction Programs. Rada, her husband Zach, and their child live in central Minnesota.
