Professional Summary
Dr. Lavyne Rada grew up in Milbank, South Dakota on a dairy farm. While in high school and college, she enjoyed working at a greenhouse and floral shop. Rada taught for one year in South Dakota before moving to Minnesota. She worked for Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN as a Retention Advisor for the TRiO Student Support Services Program and then taught high school agricultural education for nearly seven years in Hutchinson, MN, including courses in horticulture, floriculture, animal and veterinary science, food science, food and environmental chemistry, leadership, and more. All students were FFA members and had an SAE program. Today, Dr. Rada is the Executive Director of the Minnesota FFA Association, the Director of MN CTE/LCSC’s CTE Teacher Induction Program, Director of the University of Minnesota’s AFNR Teacher Induction Program, and is an adjunct professor and researcher. Rada, her husband Zach, and their child live in central Minnesota.
